The Trout Pool, a 4886 ton cargo steamer, was built in 1927 by W Gray and Co. She was hit by a mine in Belfast Lough on 20th July 1940 while en route to Glasgow with a cargo of grain. Trout Pool lies 20 minutes out from Bangor at a depth of about 15m and is broken up. This dive site can be silty where good buoyancy control is required. Therefore we advice only advanced scuba divers to dive this great wreck.
